For the series farmers and grower Loes follows blueberry grower Greftenhoeve. Blueberries have a very beautiful live cycle. They start as cute delicate pink flowers in early spring. When time passes the pink flowers turn into white flowers that look a bit like snowdrops or tubes. Over time the tubes fall off and a small green fruits start being visible. That’s the actual start of the blueberry. The tiny green fruit grows until it has a beautiful reddish crown. It keeps growing until it turns pink and then purple.
Blueberry Grower: the Greftenhoeve
The Greftenhoeve is specialised in growing blueberries. They have ten acres of fields where they grow the berries. Tens of rows with all different kinds of berries. At the Greftenhoeve they really made an experience centre for people who want to pluck their own berries. They have a special area designed for customers to pluck berries themselves. After plucking people can enjoy a cup of coffee accompanied by some delicious berry pastries made by the owners.
